Authorities have confirmed that an investigation is underway following the discovery of a body in The Trailer Park, located near the swamp area on the city’s southern edge. Police officials have released limited details but acknowledged that the deceased was a male and that the remains appeared to have been there for quite some time before being found.
During a visit to the police department earlier today, the Gutter Gazette spoke with Chief Ivy, Captain Michael, and Officer Yen, a recently appointed officer. While investigators remain tight-lipped, OfficeMYr Yen confirmed that the department has “leads and persons of interest” connected to the case, though no arrests have been made.
Captain Michael added that a letter and skeletal remains were located near the body, suggesting the area may have been used as a dump site rather than the scene of the crime.
That letter—now in police custody—read chillingly:
“I know what you did. Don’t cross me. — Red John.”
The note’s message has fueled public speculation that the murder could be tied to a larger pattern or even a serial offender, though police have not confirmed such a connection.
Chief Ivy, while cautious about the information being released, urged calm among residents amid rising public anxiety.
“Last week has been a hell,” Chief Ivy said. “People are panicking and screaming at the sight of strangers. If the public keeps reading about what is happening, it’ll just get worse.”
Despite her concern, Chief Ivy later permitted the Gazette to view a copy of the letter, requesting that coverage focus on facts, not fear. She further revealed that the department is preparing to install CCTV cameras citywide, beginning in Little Tokyo, a neighborhood that has seen several recent shootouts.
When asked if those shootouts were gang-related, Chief Ivy denied any confirmed gang activity—though her unease hinted that the situation may be more complicated than official statements suggest.
For now, authorities insist there is no immediate threat to residents of The Trailer Park or surrounding neighborhoods, but the tone from the department suggests this case is far from closed.
The Gutter Gazette will continue to investigate and bring updates as they unfold, including any developments regarding the ominous message signed simply: “Red John.”
