Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about renting, roleplay, and life in Gutter Trash Alley
Rentals & Your Space
Can you change the interior of my place?
Yes, to some extent — but only if you pay your rental one month in advance.
Can you add furniture?
Yes, to some extent — but only if you pay your rental one month in advance.
How do I operate the door?
To get the door menu, access the control panel. From the Access menu you can:
- Set Locks Off — door stays unlocked
- Set Locks On — door stays locked
- Add Key — adds another person who can open/close your door (e.g. janetguise Resident)
- List Keys — shows everyone you've given access to
- Remove Keys — revokes access from someone
Can I add subtenants?
Yes, you can add as many subtenants as you wish — they all share your prim allowance. Be aware that you also share responsibility for their actions. Once added, a subtenant is automatically added to both the security orb and door access. Only add people who actually live with you; other residents should be added to the door access list and security orb separately.
Roleplay
What is Roleplay?
Roleplay is immersing yourself in a game, story, or scene and acting as a character. In practice this means walking instead of teleporting, interacting up close rather than touching from a distance, and earning your street reputation rather than playing god.
What if I don't like to roleplay?
Everyone is welcome. You don't have to roleplay — just be respectful of other people's gameplay, interactions, and private spaces.
Why is drama allowed?
Conflict is a natural part of human interaction and storytelling. Communication and respect are key, but some drama is unavoidable in any community. What matters is keeping it in-character and not letting it spill into out-of-character harassment.
Why is shooting allowed, and what do I do if I get shot?
Firearms are legal in GTA (see the Book of Laws). If you get shot you have several options:
- Shoot back in self-defence
- Go to the police and file a report
- Hire protection
- Teleport home if you need to step out of the scene
How do I remove the Combat HUD?
In Firestorm: go to Avatar → Experiences, find AudTech, and select Block.
